Club Awards:

  • The Boise club currently provides Live Your Dream Awards®: First place – $3,000, Second place – $2,000, and Third place – $1,500. The applications are accepted annually from August 1st-November 15th. The winner of the club-level award will become eligible for one of the region-level awards.  Region-level First place recipients then become eligible to receive one of the three Soroptimist International of the America’s Federation-level awards of $10,000.
  • Soroptimist of the Year – Annual award for a member who has contributed regularly time and talents during the current club year.
  • Rookie of the Year – A new member chosen by the club president who has contributed regularly of her time and talents during the current club year.

International Goodwill & Understanding:

Our club maintains ongoing relationships with other International Soroptimist clubs with mutual support of programs. Current friendship links are Bingley, England and Bangalore, India.

Dream Programs

Soroptimist’s Dream Programs – Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women® and Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls® – ensure women and girls access the education and training required to reach their full potential and live their dreams.  Soroptimist is committed to investing in programs which demonstrate a sustainable, measurable change for women and girls. 

SIA’s major program is the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women®.

The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards® are cash awards given to motivated women who are the primary financial supporters of their families. These recipients of the awards seek to improve their lives by gaining additional skills, training or education, but do not have the resources to do so. These cash awards are meant to offset any costs associated with the recipient’s efforts to attain higher education, including tuition, books, supplies, child care or transportation costs.The Boise club currently provides Live Your Dream Awards®: First place – $3,000, Second place – $2,000, and Third place – $1,500. Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls® provides girls in secondary school, who face obstacles to their future success, access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams. Soroptimist clubs work in partnership with girls, in small groups or a conference setting, delivering information and resources for developing skills to achieve their goals. Topics include career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, overcoming obstacles to success and how to move forward after setbacks or failures.

Live Your Dream Movement

Soroptimist® also sponsors LiveYourDream.org®, a movement fiercely dedicated to ensuring every woman and girl has the opportunity to reach her full potential, be free from violence, and live her dreams. Its purpose is to engage a new, vibrant community of activists and volunteers with our Soroptimist dream programs.
